Welcome to the SCRQSA
The SC Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) was created in 2000 by the Medical Health and Radiation Safety Act. It is the mission of the SCRQSA to credential individuals qualified in the use of ionizing radiation to establish standards of patient care in the use of ionizing radiation.
In support of this mission, the SCRQSA will:
-
Adopt and uphold standards for education in the radiation sciences in the state of South Carolina.
-
Adopt and uphold standards of professional behavior consistent with the level of responsiility required by professional practice.
- Develop and/or administer examinations which assess the knowledge and skills underlying the tasks typically required by professional practice in the modality.
Currently, the SCRQSA has certified more than 8,000 radiographers.

*Please note, if you are registered in CT and are currently certified in Radiography with the SCRQSA, we are not issuing additional CT certificates. The CT certificate for the SCRQSA is specifically for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist who becomes registered in CT. SCRQSA is also not issuing Nuclear Medicine Technologists separate PET certifications.
